Matt Damon and Ben Affleck land bonus for crew on Netflix’s The Rip

Affleck: “Most of the time in this business, the things you want to do are tempered by the practical realities or the precedential history of what other people are used to doing. It’s not an easy thing to say, ‘How about if we did it this way?’ … But look, the business is changing. In some ways it’s threatened, in some ways it’s evolving, streaming is growing, theatrical is shrinking, most of those changes are (because of) the encroachment of other media forms that just take up people’s time and attention. How this business survives and thrives going forward, we believe, is going to be fundamentally related to the fact that (filmmaking) really is a collaborative art form, so (we are) seeking to incentivize all of those folks into making the best movie possible.”
