Ravens All-Pro sees his name mentioned in a recent trade theory

Welp! The Baltimore Ravens’ 30th-anniversary season didn’t go as we had hoped, and that’s putting things lightly. We’ve endured a bit of a slide here over the past few years. They’ve gone from hosting the AFC Championship Game to being bounced in the Divisional Round to not making the playoffs at all in 2025.

Week 18 felt like hitting the bottom of the barrel. Baltimore missed the playoffs this time around, which led to a change. Johns Harbaugh is out. Jesse Minter is in, and he’s here to do one thing: get this team over the hump and win a Super Bowl. Make no mistake. Consecutive postseason appearances aren’t enough.

Find yourself some snacks and comfortable seating. The show is only beginning. More change is coming, especially given the major roster decisions to make.

Pro Football Focus suggested one, and it’s significant. An All-Pro is mentioned as a possible trade piece.

PFF names Marlon Humphrey as one of 15 logical trade pieces during the NFL offseason.

With only four teams remaining on Championship Weekend, the other 28 are busy working on the 2026 NFL season. Media outlets are beginning to dig into some offseason content. PFF’s Bradley Locker recently tried his hand at some possible trade candidates.

Marlon Humphrey is one of 15 players on the list. Locker mentions the following in his theory.

“The Ravens will usher in a new era in 2026 after the shocking firing of John Harbaugh. The team’s defensive lapses were a major component in a disappointing season, with Humphrey center stage. The former All-Pro corner played the worst season of his career from a grading standpoint, posting a 49.9 overall PFF grade with a 42.9 PFF coverage grade while missing 16.5% of his tackles.”

Humphrey is a four-time Pro Bowler and a two-time First-Team All-Pro. He earned both honors as recently as 2024. Yes, he endured a disappointing season, but the same can be said of most of the players on the roster.

Are his ‘issues’ fixable? That’s the question the Ravens have to answer, seeing as how they already have to make decisions about more than 20 impending free agents. Locker continues:

“Among qualified corners in 2025, Humphrey allowed the most yards (920) and second-most receptions (68) while placing third-worst in both snaps per target and reception.”

Next season doubles as the final year of Humphrey’s current deal. He represents a $25.2 million cap hit. He also represents $18.9 million in dead cap space. That’s where the conversation gets real.

This isn’t about disrespecting Humphrey or dismissing him like he’s no longer a valuable contributor. This is just how this game works. A potentially great team in transition may want to get ahead of the curve, make tough decisions, and do some addition by subtraction.
