US Miner Eyes Global Rare Earths Clout With Australian Deal


The American firm — which digs up rare earths along with uranium in Arizona — will purchase the Australian miner in an all-stock deal valuing each share at A$1.60 ($1.08). That material could be fed through ASM’s metals plants and used in magnets for robotics, consumer electronics and defense technology.
