Sydney Sweeney gave the little black dress a ruched spin at the Variety & Golden Globes Pre-Golden Globes Party on Friday at The Polo Lounge at The Beverly Hills Hotel, wearing a one-shoulder Vivienne Westwood black mini dress.

“The Housemaid” star’s dress featured a curved, scooped neckline that sat low at the bust, framed on one side by a short puff sleeve and left bare on the other. The bodice wrapped closely through the torso with horizontal ruching. The skirt continued the same satin fabrication, cut to a mini length with diagonally wrapped panels and draping through the hips and hitting above the knee. She anchored the look in platform black peep-toe pumps.

As for accessories, Sweeney wore stacked silver and diamond rings and small drop earrings. She wore her hair in a bob — a newer style courtesy of hairdresser Glen Oropeza — and her makeup followed neutral tones with a soft lip and defined lashes. The look was styled by Molly Dickson.

Sweeney and Dickson have been pairing structured bodices with softer fabric treatments throughout her “The Housemaid” press run. At the film’s Los Angeles premiere in December, Sweeney wore a custom white Galia Lahav halter gown with a plunging neckline, a ruched bodice and a semi-sheer skirt that required more than 170 hours of workmanship, according to the brand. Earlier that month, she chose a custom Miu Miu dress in allover embellishment with a plunging V-neckline, thin straps and a cinched waist.

Her footwear rotation has covered several categories as well. For a December visit to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” she wore Paris Texas’ Lidia slingback heels in the brand’s Rouge Noir patent leather finish, then moved to Magda Butrym’s red suede knee-high boots and a coordinated Patou set while promoting “The Housemaid” in SoHo. At the 2025 SCAD Savannah Film Festival, she opted for white slingback pumps with a Stella McCartney minidress wrapped in sheer ruched fabric over a corseted base.

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards will be held on Sunday, Jan. 11 at The Beverly Hilton, honoring the best in 2025 film, television and podcasts. “One Battle After Another” leads film with nine nominations, with “Sentimental Value” and “Sinners” close behind, while “The White Lotus” tops TV nods. Hosted again by Nikki Glaser, the ceremony airs live beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
