Cathie from Canada: Today’s News: Speaking truth to power

With everything that’s going on, our political cartoonists have really outdone themselves.

So I thought I should share some of the ones I found yesterday and today:

I’d like to cancel my free trial of 2026.

I’ve seen enough to know this isn’t working out. Please do not auto-renew.

The most profound statement you will hear today, said by David Cochrane, CBC:

About our boy Pierre and his support for Trump’s Venezuela adventure:

Moving on to Greenland, isn’t it just ridiculous that Trump is going to blow up NATO because he can’t read a map properly?

per my point about the mercator projection being the root of this whole thing

Until various other chores kept me from doing so, was planning to do a Mercator-based substack post yesterday. Planned opening image is below.

We were in Greenland for a week last year. This is the flat-out stupidest thing Trump has yet proposed. Not most evil, but stupidest.

Does this also explain the Canada fixation?

Europe is stepping up:

I think Canadians are increasingly concerned that Canada needs to speak out more strongly against Trump’s lawlessness adventurism in Venezuela and Greenland. Yes, yes, I know Carney is worried about CUSMA and all, but bullies can’t be mollified by acquiescence.

If you’re wondering what you as a Canadian can do right now, do this.

Tell your MP you expect 🇨🇦 to stand firm. Call. Write. Be very clear. Tell them you will back a tough stance on trade & sovereignty. Let them know you won’t accept US bullying or us looking the other way if the US acts illegally.

Let them know we want them to hold the line and we’ll be behind them.

Our government’s posture matters so much right now. Unity is strength. Division is leverage for someone else.

Use your voice.

❤️🇨🇦

About the horror in Minneapolis:

And look at this asswipe today – they have learned nothing:

Even Jesse Ventura is disgusted

Ex-Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura: “We’re a 3rd world country now. I know. I’ve been to ‘em. I spent 17 months in SE Asia while the draft dodger was playing golf… that’s what happens in a dictatorship. In comes the military. That’s what’s happening here.” 🇺🇸

And a great song here, from Jesse Welles:

Finally, some actual journalism is being committed in the United States:

Clear-eyed, fact-based, and written to explain to normies. No “both sidesing.” No “Trump officials disagree.”
No gaslighting that what we can see with our own eyes might not be true.

This is journalism. Well done, @people.com
