With his office having now confirmed the timeline for his upcoming trip to China — a four-day visit that, according to the advisory, is scheduled to begin on Jan. 13, and is expected to include one-on-one meetings with both Chinese president Xi Jinping and premier Li Quang — Prime Minister Mark Carney will once again be staying off the radar today, as per his public itinerary.
As of Thursday morning, there were also no events on deck for any members of his front bench team.
Meanwhile, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre hits the hustings in Vancouver, where, as per the party website, he’ll join local supporters at an evening reception at the Terminal City Club. (6 p.m. PT)
