Preview: Leeds United Women vs Chester-le-Street Ladies


Leeds United Women are back in FA Women’s National League Division One North action on Sunday, hosting Chester-le-Street Ladies at Garforth.

Looking to get 2026 off to a strong start, the Whites will be seeking a league double over the visitors after winning away from home thanks to Alice Hughes and Kath Smith’s penalty.

Simon Wood’s side are coming into the clash off the back of a 3-2 win away at Norton in the league, forcing an 88th-minute winner to get one step closer to the top-spot.

United were last in action in the FA Cup, where they were beaten by league-above West Bromwich Albion Women, after a strong first-half performance.

Action from the Bannister Prentice Stadium gets underway at 2pm.

Ahead of the clash, Whites captain Shauna Legge said: “It’s been nice to have a break with family and friends and take some time to recharge and reset.

“We’re ready to go again now and pick up where we left off in the league and hit the ground running.”

Sunday’s game kicks-off at 2pm at Garforth Town FC’s Bannister Prentice Stadium, Cedar Ridge, Garforth, LS25 2PF.

Tickets are priced at £6 for adults, £4 for Under-16s and free for Under-5s. Hot food and drinks are available in the clubhouse. Please note, the venue is cash only.
