Minister Sidhu to visit Brazil and Colombia to strengthen trade ties

The Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Minister of International Trade, today announced that he will visit Brazil from August 25 to 28, 2025, and Colombia from August 28 to 30, to advance Canada’s trade and investment relationships in Latin America.

During his visit, Minister Sidhu will strengthen Canada’s engagement with Brazil, the 10th-largest economy in the world and a key member of the Mercosur trade group. He will seek opportunities for Canadian companies in Brazil through market diversification and highlight Canada’s innovative, stable, and sustainable economy, open to investment from Brazilian companies.

In Colombia, Minister Sidhu will showcase Canadian expertise in infrastructure and clean technology. He will emphasize Canada’s reputation as a stable and reliable partner, recognized globally for its commitment to responsible business practices.
