Hawaiian Airlines To Officially Join oneworld In April 2026


Hawaiian Airlines will officially join the oneworld alliance on April 22, 2026, as JonNYC announced in an X post. As the airline continues to operate under its own brand identity post-merger, the new alliance membership will be a major boost to customer options and perks.

Alaska Airlines completed its acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines on September 18, 2024. Since then, the two companies have been progressively working towards integrated operations and service. The addition of Hawaiian to the oneworld network will improve customer benefits and options across the board for both the airline and the wider alliance at the same time.

The date for Hawaiian to join the oneworld roster coincides with the day when Hawaiian and Alaska will share a single passenger service system. According to One Mile At A Time, that is when the “HA” code will disappear, and both Airlines will share the “AS” code. Hawaiian will be the 16th member of the alliance that boasts over 1,200 destinations in its combined network.

Atmos Rewards members with Hawaiian will see their loyalty status gain access to equivalent perks and benefits with every airline under the oneworld umbrella after April 2026. The top-tier oneworld Emerald status is widely considered the industry’s best, offering unique perks and fast-track services across all member airlines.

Roger Blackburn, oneworld’s vice president Commercial and Loyalty, gave insight into 2026 with his remarks in an announcement from the alliance that forecast Hawaiian Airlines will be a strong contributing member next year:

“From the Big Apple and Hawaii’s Big Island to Mount Fiji and the Atlas Mountains, oneworld’s Round the World fares offer customers access to an unbeatable network of leading airlines on a single ticket.”

The Growing oneworld Roster

The oneworld alliance is currently ranked number three behind SkyTeam and Star Alliance in terms of operational scale. Hawaiian is the tenth largest carrier in the US, while Alaska is ranked fifth behind the “big three” (American, Delta, and United) and Southwest Airlines. Hawaiian fits neatly into the “quality over quantity” strategy that oneworld operates under and greatly enhances service to one of the alliance’s most popular destinations, Hawaii.

Hawaiian Airlines increases the long-haul portfolio for both Alaska and oneworld in the Asia-Pacific region. Fiji Airways was also promoted from a oneworld Connect partner to a full member in 2025, which further improves the alliance’s coverage in Asia. Taiwan’s Starlux Airlines may also apply for membership by the end of 2025.

Oman Air joined the alliance in 2024 to bolster the Middle Eastern Network. Qatar Airways joined OneWorld in 2012, becoming the first of the three major Gulf carriers to do so and representing the only major Middle Eastern foothold until Oman joined. oneworld is targeting India, mainland China, and Latin America now for new members.

A core tenet of oneworld’s strategy is to deliver a consistently high-quality, seamless travel experience, particularly for premium passengers. The alliance has been expanding in recent years as well as investing in improved lounges and services for members across all airlines. One goal of oneworld is to provide a “single airline” atmosphere for multi-carrier itineraries.

Hawaiian is known for its distinct “spirit of aloha” and genuine hospitality, which has earned it high ratings. The airline is adding a proper Premium Economy cabin to its Airbus A330 fleet, a step up from its previous “Extra Comfort” seats. Hawaiian plans to refurbish its existing A330 Business Class cabins and partner with Starlink to provide reliable, high-speed internet on trans-Pacific flights.

The alliance continues to invest in digital transformation to provide a more seamless travel experience, including self-service tools for managing journeys and improved information exchange between member airline apps and websites. In October 2025, oneworld hosted its first Innovation Summit to collaborate with tech companies and investors on new technologies to solve common industry challenges.

Hawaiian’s reputation for “old-school” personalized service complements ooneworld’s neworld’s goal of delivering a high-quality, premium passenger experience even as the alliance move forward with more and more technology.
