Erika Kirk talks faith and grief, fields question from last person to speak to Charlie: How to watch the CBS News town hall

Hunter Kozak was the last person to ask Charlie Kirk a question before the conservative commentator was assassinated in September. This week, the Utah Valley University student met and posed a question to Kirk’s widow Erika as part of a CBS News town hall airing at 8 p.m. tonight on CBS.

The town hall was moderated by CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss and featured questions from an invited audience. Also in attendance: Robert Milgrim, the father of 26-year-old Israeli embassy staffer Sarah Milgrim, who was killed in May outside the Capitol Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.

Erika Kirk fielded questions about faith, political violence and the American right, and she reflected on the stunning moment that she forgave her husband’s accused killer.

She also talked about the Sabbath and its importance in Charlie’s life. It’s the focus of his final book, “Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life,” which was posthumously released this week.

Saturday’s sit-down, the first in a series of planned CBS News town halls and debates, airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. You can also watch it by signing up for a Paramount+ premium plan ($12.99/month after free 7-day trial).

An extended version of the conversation will air on CBS News 24/7, available on your cellphone or connected TV, on Sunday at 9 a.m., 3 p.m., 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET. It will also be available on-demand on CBS News’ YouTube channel.
