‘I know what’s being said’ – Julian Alvarez responds to Barcelona transfer talk

Julian Alvarez has been quizzed again about a possible move to Barcelona and says he’s well aware of the current speculation but isn’t too bothered about the transfer talk.

The Argentina international is thought to be a dream signing for Joan Laporta, although Atletico have said they are not interested in letting him go.

Any transfer also looks difficult due to the high fee Atletico are almost certain to demand, and Alvarez thinks most of the current speculation is just talk.

“Look, it doesn’t bother me. I try not to pay much attention, but I know what’s being said. It’s all over social media,” he told Marca.

“I think it’s more what’s being said online than what’s actually happening. I’m very focused on this season, on what lies ahead with Atlético de Madrid. So, I try to tune it out and think about myself, about continuing to grow as a player, and about winning.”

Recent speculation has claimed Barca have cooled their interest in Alvarez, but if Robert Lewandowski does depart in the summer it seems as though the club will be in the market for a new No. 9.
