Qsuite is Qatar Airways’ flagship business class seat, designed to bring elements traditionally associated with first class into business class. In addition, each seat features a sliding door, which adds to the feeling of privacy, especially when the seat is reclined into a lie-flat bed. However, while passengers can make Qsuite a completely private experience, they can also lower the privacy panels to interact with their seatmates, particularly useful when traveling with a family member or coworker.
In addition, Qsuite transforms into a fully lie-flat 80-inch bed at the touch of a button. World Class Onboard Dining And Service
While seat design is a major selling point of Qsuite, the soft products offered both on the ground and onboard are significant parts of the Qsuite experience. In flight, Qatar utilizes a dine-on-demand model for the Qsuite dining experience. For most long-haul flights, dine-on-demand means passengers can choose when and what to eat. This is compared to many airlines where all passengers are served a meal at a set time, usually soon after takeoff.
Qatar’s dine-on-demand experience offers passengers greater flexibility. For example, on a late-night flight, a Qsuite passenger may choose to sleep for a few hours and then order from the menu after they wake up. This allows passengers to choose a meal schedule that fits their travel style, rather than being forced to wait for service before catching up on sleep.
In terms of the food, meals are plated individually and served course by course. Which Aircraft Offer Qsuites?
While Qsuite is available on a significant portion of Qatar Airways’ long-haul fleet, it is not universal. In addition, it can be found on most of Qatar’s A350-900s, 777-200LRs, and 777-300ERs.
In total, Qatar Airways has 94 aircraft equipped with Qsuite, including the modified version on the 787-9. Notably, the airline’s A380s, which were reactivated to support post-pandemic demand, do not feature the product, nor do the carrier’s A330s or narrowbody aircraft.

Passengers looking to determine if their aircraft is equipped with Qsuite should look for a 1-2-1 seating configuration on the seating chart. If the business class offering is instead in a 2-2-2 layout, passengers can expect Qatar Airways’ older business class product. Qatar also offers a Qsuite guarantee, entitling passengers booked in Qsuite to a free flight change or refund should their aircraft switch to one without Qsuite.

How Does Qsuites Compare To Other Business Class Products?
Qsuite was the first private suite business class product introduced by any airline in 2017. While the seat itself was hugely innovative at the time, private suites in business class have become the norm in today’s premium-heavy travel market.
In terms of privacy, Qsuite remains one of the more private products on the market. This is largely due to the closing door which some airlines chose to omit from their business classes. However, some products, like ANA’s The Room, are also known for their privacy but also offer wider, more spacious suites on their 777-300ER aircraft. Dining is another area where Qatar continues to shine, consistently providing high-quality catering on all of their flights. In addition, the Al Mourjan Lounge experience is top-class and provides a much better experience than some other airline’s lounges.
However, one key drawback to Qsuite is that not every Qatar Airways aircraft features the product. This makes choosing a flight to try Qsuite a bit of guesswork. Compared to airlines that feature largely uniform business class products, like Emirates, whose hard product has not changed much since the late 2010s aside from some minor tech upgrades. With older-generation business class products still flying on Qatar Airways, along with soon to be three variations of Qsuite, physical suite consistency could be improved at the Doha-based airline.
The Future Of Qsuites
At its launch in 2017, Qsuite was a leader in business class innovation. Eight years later, while Qsuite remains an excellent product for passengers, new business class suites from other airlines have pushed Qatar Airways to announce an updated Qsuite, launching within the next few years.
Dubbed Qsuite Next Generation, Qatar promises to redefine its signature product in the digital world. These new seats will include a movable 4K OLED Panasonic Astrova inflight entertainment screen in the redesigned Quad suite, as well as even wider lie-flat beds in every suite. The airline also plans to introduce companion suites, offering a shared space in window aisles and expanding the options Qsuite passengers have to choose from.
Originally, Qsuite Next Gen was expected to debut on the highly anticipated Boeing 777-9 in 2025. However, with ongoing certification delays related to the 777X, the launch date for Qsuite had to be pushed back as well. Qatar Airways currently has orders for 60 B777X aircraft, which are expected to feature the new Qsuite once delivered.
