Neil MacRae: Jersey cricket reappoint director of cricket

Jersey Cricket have reappointed Neil MacRae as their director of cricket.

The Scot spent more than a decade in charge of cricket on the island before leaving to take charge of the Netherlands’ women’s side in January 2024.

He has replaced Paul Hutchison, who took over from him almost two years ago before stepping down earlier this year.

Hutchison led the island’s men’s side to their biggest-ever win when they beat Scotland in T20 World Cup qualifying, before narrowly missing out on making next year’s tournament.

MacRae will also work as men’s national team head coach, as well as overseeing cricket on the island.

“It’s a real privilege to be returning to Jersey Cricket,” MacRae said.

“The island holds a special place for me and I’m proud of everything we achieved together during my previous time here.

“To come back, with new experiences from working in international women’s cricket, and to help drive the next stage of development is something I’m genuinely excited about.

“Jersey Cricket has a strong foundation, passionate people and real ambition. I’m looking forward to getting started and building on that momentum.”
