Budget Watchdog Regrets Calling Canada’s Fiscal Position ‘Stupefying’


Carney presented his first budget in November, adding billions of dollars in deficits to boost spending on defense, infrastructure and housing — and, crucially, removing a pledge to keep the country’s debt on a declining path relative to gross domestic product.
