Chelsea player’s words will infuriate fans – they will never win a title thinking like this

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez spoke to the media after the Blues’ draw on Saturday, and a lot of fans won’t be happy with what they heard.

Sanchez himself was called into action repeatedly, and was our man of the match in the game.

“There’s a sense of disappointment we couldn’t get the win,” said the Spaniard in quotes on the club’s official website.

“Coming from a loss in the last game, we wanted to redeem ourselves and get three points and a clean sheet. We created chances, I think we played well, we missed that goal, but we kept a clean sheet and we didn’t lose the game.

“If you cannot win, try not to lose and that’s what we did. We will take the point and we will go to the next game and try to get three.

Let’s be honest, while we appreciate what he’s saying – and he’s only echoing what his coach has said before – that sort of comment just shows how far standards have fallen at the club.

Can you imagine one of our title winning top players under Jose Mourinho or Antonio Conte saying that a draw against Bournemouth was acceptable? Standards haves slipped and need to be restored or we’ll never see another Premier League title lifted at Stamford Bridge.

In other news…

Alejandro Garnacho was decent on the left wing last night – that was pretty much the only positive you could take from our attack, which was totally toothless despite the return of Cole Palmer.

If you really dig deep you can find one positive from the game – our defensive partnership managed to keep a clean sheet, continuing to cement the Chalobah – Fofana duo as the best we’ve got.
