Counter Blitz is themed around Final Fantasy 10 with Tidus as the face commander. Of the 100 cards in the deck, 25 are entirely new to MTG and feature Tidus, Yuna, and other heroes and villains from Spira. Two cards are Legendary Creature Traditional Foil, and all of the remaining cards are Final Fantasy-themed variants of existing MTG commander cards. The Collector Booster Sample comes with a pair of Rare or higher Alternate-Border cards.

All four Final Fantasy Commander Decks also come with a deck box, 10 double-sided token cards, a reference card, and a fold-out strategy insert with tips for using the Counter Blitz deck.
