Battlefield 6 update fixes recon drone exploit letting players ride them into the sky without a care in the world

A major Battlefield 6 update introduced today has fixed a bug allowing players to fly into the sky on top of a recon drone by hitting it over and over again with a sledgehammer. This had allowed players to reach otherwise inaccessible positions on maps, to the dismay of ground-bound fighters.

This bug had been present in the game since launch, with some abusing the exploit to reach incredibly high areas of the map otherwise out of reach for regular players on the other team, leading to one-sided death-from-above firefights.

Sure you could fly a jet or helicopter into these people, but at high cost and not necessarily on all game modes. So, it really did have to be fixed, and was at the top of the community’s demands long before the Season One and RedSec update came out.

Alongside the death of the drone glitch, the update also fixes a lock-on missile issue where players in jets and helicopters were struggling to counter them with flares; these should be easier to avoid with vehicle counter-measures now. The update also fixed vehicle spawn issues on Conquest and Breakthrough game modes, as well as a myriad of battle royale issues and general progression, audio, and UI issues.

All in all the update appears to strike at the heart of several major complaints all at once. Meanwhile, Battlefield 6 is still doing well on PlayStation and PC as the military FPS continues to build excitement among its dedicated community.
