Warriors’ Stephen Curry Reportedly Out vs. Kings with Illness, Jimmy Butler, Green TBD

The Golden State Warriors will be without their star as Stephen Curry sits out Wednesday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings due to illness, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported.

Curry is “dealing with a cold he said is worsening” and didn’t travel with his team to San Francisco, Charania reported.

Draymond Green (right rib contusion) and Jimmy Butler (tweaked lower back) are questionable for Wednesday night’s game, per Charania. Butler “is pushing to play,” Charania reported.

Curry managed to stay healthy for most of the 2024-25 season, playing 70 games for the second year in a row. Unfortunately, his health didn’t follow him into the postseason.

He played all seven games in the first round against the Houston Rockets, but suffered a hamstring injury in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Dubs managed to pick up a win in Game 1 against the Wolves despite Curry missing most of the game, but ultimately lost to the Timberwolves in five games.

Luckily for Curry, the hamstring injury wasn’t too major, and he was able to have a healthy offseason.

Though Curry has taken a few steps back with age, he’s still playing at an extremely high level, putting up 24.5 points and six assists during the 2024-25 regular season.

This year, he’s averaging 26.8 points, 4.3 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game as the Warriors sit at 5-3 on the season.

The legendary sharpshooter will look to bounce back quickly from the illness and continue helping his squad.
