9 Hours On A Single Aisle? The US’s 10 New Longest European Boeing 757 Flights This Summer

As everyone knows, northern airlines generally make more money in the summer, as that’s when demand and fares are usually at their highest. Between June and August 2026, an average of 19 daily transatlantic passenger Boeing 757 flights are planned, all of which are, of course, to Europe. The type’s activity has been reduced from 21 daily flights in the same three months last year.

Delta Air Lines, Icelandair, La Compagnie, and United Airlines will all have transatlantic 757 services this summer. In La Compagnie’s case, it’ll temporarily lease an all-business-class frame from Icelandair. Four airlines last flew the type across the North Atlantic in 2021, when Cabo Verde Airlines was part of the list.

In this article, ‘summer’ refers to June to August, which is the meteorological summer. This is radically different from the aviation summer, which is based on IATA slot seasons. In 2026, airlines, airports, etc., consider their summer season to be March 29 to October 24.

You’ll see that two entries are new for 2026. They include what is now number one: Milan Malpensa to Newark. This is, of course, just a temporary setup. And like the fourth entry, Paris Orly to Newark, it is perhaps somewhat unfair, as the operating aircraft will have an all-business-class configuration, which is very different from the other carriers’ layouts.

Notice that Stockholm Arlanda is not featured below. That’s because United ceased flying there, and to Scandinavia generally, last September. Blocked at up to 8h 40m, it was, at the time, the US’s longest transatlantic 757 flight. But if it existed today, it’d rank second.

A Look At La Compagnie Between Milan & Newark

According to Cirium Diio data, the tiny European carrier has served this route since March 2022. Save for the odd Boeing 757 substitution, nearly all flights have, of course, been aboard La Compagnie’s 76-seat, all-business-class Airbus A321neos.

Starting this June, this long route will see the 757-200 on a scheduled basis for the first time. While unconfirmed, the aircraft will probably be the all-business TF-FIA. Flying from Italy to Newark, La Compagnie will deploy the flying pencil on June 9, 10, 14, 17, 20, 23, 24, and 26, with a handful of flights in September too. The emphasis on June must surely be because of the World Cup.

On June 9, for example, B0300 will leave Milan at 12:25 pm and arrive in New Jersey at 5:45 pm local time (9h 20m). Returning, B0301 will leave at 9:30 pm and get back at 11:45 am+1 (8h 15m). I’m sure many will agree that the airline’s IATA code stinks.

Iceland’s flag carrier has flown to Denver since 2012. The 757-200 has, of course, been critical to the long route, operating 93% of all flights. The 183-seater will operate during the summer again too, with the smaller, 160-seat 737 MAX 8 being fully or partly used in the winter, which makes a lot of sense.

Between June and August, Denver-bound flights will leave Keflavik at 10:45 am and 4:50 pm. Flying back to Iceland, they’ll depart from Colorado at 4:40 pm and 8:10 pm. Aircraft do not remain overnight in Denver in the summer, although they do during the winter.
