Over the weekend, video clips of the Chanel boutiques in Paris went viral online. In them, fashion people—all manner of editors, stylists, and influencers—rushed to be the first to shop Matthieu Blazy’s debut collection on launch day, with items like the two-tone high-vamp pumps, pony-hair finished slingbacks, and embroidered flap bags becoming the most sought-after.
It wasn’t just that the accessories were really good, which they are, but that they’re literal pieces of fashion history. But it wasn’t just Chanel. The spring 2026 season will go down as one of the most significant of our time for the sheer number of designer debuts that many were dubbing the great fashion reset.
From Jonathan Anderson taking the helm at Dior to former Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez arriving at Loewe, the designer new arrivals this spring aren’t just representative of a new season, but mark an entirely new chapter for fashion—and everyone, myself included, wants a piece.
I’ve had many months to consider my buy list, and after careful consideration, I’ve edited it down to nine key items I’ll personally be shopping. From Matthieu Blazy–era Chanel heels to a Demna-fied Gucci bag, discover my list of the best luxury investment items to come out of the spring 2026 collections.
1. Chanel High-Vamp Pumps

First and undeniably, the item I’m after the most is the two-tone Chanel pumps. I never thought I’d become a big Chanel shopper, but seeing the fresh direction Matthieu Blazy is taking the French powerhouse has me reconsidering everything, and these specific pumps are at the heart of it all for me. With their high-vamp shape, squarish toe, and contrast paneling, they’re one of the coolest pairs of heels I’ve seen in a long time. I’m torn on the color since all the options are equally good, but I think the signature Chanel beige-and-black combination takes the cake. It’s the perfect intersection of old Chanel and new Chanel.
2. Celine Silk Scarves

Printed scarves are one of the savviest styling pieces to own right now, thanks in no small part to Michael Rider’s recent Celine runways that continue to provide endlessly innovative ways to wear one, like layering it underneath a trench coat or tying it over the neckline of a tailored blazer.

3. Celine Derby Shoes

In his debut Celine spring 2026 collection, creative director Michael Rider sent model after model down the runway wearing derby shoes. At first glance, the shoes appeared to be regular flats with their slim soles and glove-like fits, but upon closer inspection, they turned out to feature lace-up details. Now, they’ve arrived in stores in both black and white, and after seeing them up close at the brand’s showroom, I’ve determined they’re the flat shoes I’ll be investing in for my 2026 wardrobe.
4. Loewe Amazona 180 Bag
For their first Loewe collection, designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez revisited one of the label’s most iconic handbags through a modern lens. First released in the ’70s, the Amazona Bag has always been an essential Loewe piece, but the pair brought it back for spring 2026 in a slouchy, more undone version that gives the structured bag a cool, lived-in quality. It’s already been spotted on the arms of celebs, including Sarah Pidgeon, who wore it in Paris recently, which tells me it’s not only an everyday carryall but a potential It item, too.

5. Dior Whisper Pumps

The first items from Jonathan Anderson’s acclaimed Dior debut are beginning to arrive, and all our editors are buzzing about the shoes, in particular, from the two-tone Muse Pumps to the J’Adior slingback flats. I’m drawn to the kitten-heeled Whisper Pumps of the two with their playful rabbit ears that blend Dior’s sophistication with Anderson’s signature cheekiness.
6. Gucci Jackie Slim Shoulder Bag

When Gucci held its Milan press days for the spring/summer collection—and designer Demna’s debut—editors were abuzz about one item, in particular: a new take on the beloved Jackie Bag. For spring, it arrived with a notably slimmer, oblong east-west shape and a softer, slouchier, and all-around more lived-in look blending the bag’s heritage with an undeniable wearability that will make it a fan favorite in no time.

7. Khaite Dolso Jacket

Nobody makes a leather jacket like Khaite, and I’d even go so far as to say that designer Catherine Holstein has perfected the art of the cool-girl leather topper. For spring 2026, the It jacket that caught my eye was a cape-sleeve style with a flipped-up collar silhouette that the New Yorker in me knows I’d be wearing nonstop with jeans.

8. Coach Kisslock Barrel Bag

I’m always itching to see what Coach has in store for bags, and the lineup for spring 2026 had so much to love. For me, the Kisslock Barrel Bag was an instant favorite with its wearable shoulder-bag carry and vintage-inspired kisslock coin purse built in.

9. Michael Kors Card Holder Necklace

Pendant wallet necklaces were one of the more viral (albeit surprising) trends to come out of NYFW last season. Showing up at Tory Burch, Coach, TWP, and Michael Kors, the lanyard-style necklaces were absolutely everywhere, and now that many are becoming shoppable, I’ve pinpointed Kors’ take on it as the one I’m buying into. I can already see this chic and functional accessory becoming a part of my airport outfit rotation.
