Ask me to name the best perfumes on the market, and you probably wouldn’t find a fruity fragrance on my list of favourites. It’s not that I don’t like fruity scents; I just don’t think they smell as luxurious as other options on the market, such as floral or woody fragrances.
That being said, there’s one fruity note that is trending more than anything else at the moment, and all of the coolest people I know are reaching for this particular scent now that spring is here. Wondering what I’m talking about? Peach perfumes, of course.

While berry fragrances and orange-based scents all have distinctive qualities, peach perfumes are more mysterious. They can smell sweet, sparkly, smooth or sensual, depending on their accompanying notes. It’s this elusive quality that makes these perfumes the it-girl choice for the season ahead. Possibly the best (and most iconic) peach perfume of all time, I come back to this Tom Ford fragrance every single spring. It has this rich, sensual undertone that makes it utterly addictive. It opens on notes of sweet, creamy peach and zesty blood orange, before sandalwood and patchouli settle on the skin for a smooth, seductive ending. It feels fuzzy and sparkly, like a few too many cocktails on a night out with friends.

Taking a slightly different approach, Parfums De Marly has created one of the most sophisticated peach scents of all time. If you’re looking for an affordable perfume to try this spring, you can’t go wrong with Phlur’s Peach Skin. This is more of a spring and summer scent, with a fruity, tropical aroma of peach, plum and coconut. That said, a base of sandalwood and amber adds surprising depth, making this one of the most expensive-smelling body mists I’ve tried.

Dior recently released a brand new peach perfume, and it’s just as good as it looks. Sweet, syrupy notes of peach are complemented by creamy jasmine and vanilla whipped cream. The result? A smooth, sparkling, gourmand delight.

Whenever I wear this, everyone asks about my fragrance.

Another new launch from one of my favourite French perfume brands, Kilian. Inspired by Kilian Hennessy’s journey to Japan and the beauty of Sakura blossoms, this peach perfume is delicate on the skin, with powdery rose at its heart. Peach adds a hint of sweetness, while cedarwood and oakmoss create a woody aroma that is both luxurious and intimate.
