While I’m stuck in NYC with a snowstorm on the way, I can’t stop thinking about spring 2026 fashion. It doesn’t help that my Instagram feed is overflowing with effortlessly chic spring outfits. I’m giving in, and I’m taking it as my cue that it’s time to shed the layers. (Defrost, if you will.)
Transitioning from winter to spring requires thoughtful wardrobe updates, such as swapping cashmeres and wools for lightweight layers like linens and cottons. Mimic the pretty colors of blooming flora with intentional color combos. Spring 2026 calls for an explosion of color. Think ballet and red; cerulean and espresso. Don’t shy away from neutrals, though. Suedes and khakis are still in, but be mindful to pair them with stark whites or rich charcoals. Last spring, polka dots dominated.
