The Airbus A320 is one of the most widely used narrowbody aircraft in commercial aviation. Since entering service in the late 1980s, the A320 family has evolved through multiple generations, with improvements in fuel efficiency, noise performance, and range. Today, the family spans almost every segment of the single-aisle market, from short-haul regional services to medium to long-range international routes operated by the latest A321XLR.
Depending on the version, the A320 family offers a range from roughly 3,500 miles to about 5,400 miles. In everyday operations, however, most A320 flights are far shorter, with average sector lengths well under 1,000 miles. That said, several airlines operate A320 routes exceeding 3,000 miles, including a number of services to Europe. Most recently, Emirati low-cost carrier Air Arabia launched three new routes from Sharjah that are among the longest A320 flights currently operating to Europe.
Two Of The Routes Are Air Arabia’s Newly Launched Services To Germany And Czechia
On December 15, 2025, the carrier launched daily nonstop flights between Sharjah and Munich, its first destination in Germany. According to aviation analytics provider Cirium, the service is scheduled to run through October 24. The route spans approximately 2,842 miles and is operated using the carrier’s new Airbus A320neo fleet. The flight time for the service is around seven hours. In fact, it is Air Arabia’s third-longest route in Europe.
In addition, on December 20, the low-cost carrier restored its nonstop service between Sharjah and Prague, returning to the Czech capital after a five-year hiatus. The 2,778-mile route is also operated with the airline’s new Airbus A320neo aircraft and has a flight time of around six hours and 50 minutes. Air Arabia first launched the route back in 2018. It initially operated five weekly flights and suspended the route in 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Air Arabia’s New Warsaw Service Also Ranks Among The Longest A320 Routes
Furthermore, on December 20, the budget carrier also launched a daily nonstop service between Sharjah and Warsaw Modlin Airport. The route spans approximately 2,606 miles and is operated using a mix of Airbus A320neo and A320ceo aircraft, with the majority of flights currently scheduled on the A320ceo fleet.
The airline plans to deploy the A320neo on the route during the peak summer period (covering July, August, September, and October). The new Modlin service complements Air Arabia’s existing daily operation to Warsaw Chopin Airport. In addition, the airline also operates ten nonstop flights per week between Sharjah and Kraków.
Indeed, in recent years, passenger and cargo demand between the United Arab Emirates and Poland has been steadily increasing. With all three routes now in operation, Air Arabia offers a total of 24 weekly flights between the UAE and Poland. The carrier entered the Polish market in 2024, initially launching daily service to Kraków in June, followed later that year by flights to Warsaw Chopin.

Air Arabia is the Middle East and North Africa’s first and largest low-cost carrier.
London Gatwick Will Become Air Arabia’s Longest Route
Air Arabia was launched more than two decades ago and has since established a low-cost operating model that has remained profitable in most years (except the pandemic period). In recent years, the group has reported double-digit growth in both revenue and passenger numbers, driven by a steadily expanding fleet and its route network.
Indeed, Europe has become an increasingly important part of the carrier’s international network. As noted above, for the winter 2025–26 schedule, Air Arabia added several new European routes from Sharjah and has continued to grow its presence in the region into the summer season.
From March 29, the airline is launching double-daily flights between Sharjah and London Gatwick. The route will be operated by the 215-seat Airbus A321LR and is expected to have a flight time of around seven hours and 50 minutes. Once launched, the service will become Air Arabia’s longest route by flight time.
