If you’re an avid Who What Wear UK reader, you’ll already know by now that we like to round up the biggest nail colour trends every month. While our beauty team is always on the lookout for new nail trends and popular nail shades, sometimes it’s nice to get a bit of insight from an expert, too. Which is why this month I reached out to Tinu Bello, senior Mylee ambassador and A-list manicurist (who has worked with the likes of Sandra Oh and AJ Odudu), to get her opinion on April’s biggest nail colours.
With spring in full swing, I was keen to hear whether we could expect to see the usual line-up of pastel shades, or whether April would have something new in store. Luckily for me, Bello had so many fresh, modern recommendations for the month ahead, so there are plenty of options to choose from.
Below, I’ve rounded up Bello’s expert predictions and some of her go-to polishes to help get the look. What are you waiting for? Keep on scrolling and get that April nail appointment booked in ASAP…

7 Stylish April Nail Colours 2026
1. Teal
First up, this striking teal shade. “Teal is a more unexpected take on a spring nail colour,” says Bello. “It sits between blue and green, which gives it a versatility that works across warm and cool tones. It feels polished but still directional, especially when worn in a high-shine finish. It’s a great choice for those who want something bolder than pastels but still refined.”

2. Violet
Another bright colour that’s bound to turn heads. “Violet is having a moment as we see a shift towards slightly moodier tones for SS26. It brings a richness that lilac doesn’t have, making it feel more fashion-forward and less sugary. It works perfectly as a matte or gloss finish too,” says Bello.

3. Marigold
“Marigold taps into the ongoing appetite for warm, uplifting shades,” Bello tells me. “It’s deeper than a traditional yellow, with an almost sunlit quality that instantly lifts the look of the hands. While it’s bold, it doesn’t feel harsh, especially when balanced with a glossy finish. I really love the Mylee Gel Polish in ‘French Marigold’ to get the look.”

4. Mint
You’ve heard it here first: mint nails are having a comeback. “Mint feels like a natural evolution of the clean-girl aesthetic for spring as it’s fresh, understated and subtle,” Bello tells me. “It’s softer than a true pastel green or pistachio, which makes it more wearable across skin tones.”

5. Pearl
If you want something more understated, why not try pearl nails? “Pearl nails build on the ‘your nails but better’ movement and give a soft, luminous finish that feels elevated rather than overdone,” says Bello. “The appeal lies in its versatility. It works as a clean, everyday look but also layers beautifully over other shades for a more dimensional effect. It’s polished, timeless and quietly luxe. Try the Mylee Gel Polish in Pearl Drop (£10) for an easy route into the trend.”

6. Powder Blue
It wouldn’t be an April nail colour roundup without one or two pastel nail ideas. “Powder blue brings a sense of calm and lightness that feels perfect for early spring,” says Bello. “It’s softer than a traditional baby blue, with a slightly muted quality that makes it feel modern. Worn on short, neat nails, it feels chic and effortless.”

7. Cherry Pink
Last but not least, say hello to this striking pink nail design. “Cherry pink is a more saturated, grown take on classic pinks. It has a vibrancy that feels playful yet has enough depth to keep it sophisticated. This is the shade that bridges winter berries into spring brights and is perfect for anyone not quite ready to go full pastel.”
