The Los Angeles Rams have gotten off to a hot start to the offseason, trading for All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie and also awarding him with a four-year, $124 million extension that will make him the highest-paid cornerback in league history. On Monday, the Rams went out and agreed to a deal with his teammate, Jaylen Watson, giving him a three-year, $51 million contract. The fifth-year cornerback has a lengthy frame at 6-2 and can cover well on the outside.
Many believe Les Snead may not be done. With next season potentially being Matthew Stafford’s last, this front office is going all in to try to bring a second ring in the decade to this franchise. Their top needs are linebacker, right tackle, and preferably another receiver, so fans should expect to see at least one of these positions targeted during free agency or the NFL draft in April.

The Rams still have the cap space to sign another contributor in free agency, and there are plenty of names still on the market.
LB Germaine Pratt
Pratt, the 29-year-old who was with the Colts this past season, finished with 126 total tackles and 10 passes defended. He is phenomenal against the run and could help to shore up the Rams’ linebacker corps.
RT Braden Smith
Another name, although pricey, could be Colts right tackle Braden Smith. Smith had a strong year in Indianapolis and would fill the Rams’ hole at the right tackle position for the foreseeable future, bumping Warren McClendon Jr. down to a swing tackle role.

Although the Rams have fixed their glaring issue at cornerback, there is still much more work to get done in the offseason. The NFC – more specifically, the NFC West – is full of super-talented teams that are all loading up in preparation for a Super Bowl run. If the Rams want to be crowned champs at SoFi next February, multiple improvements should still be made to get them there.
