Where You Can Still Watch the Original Looney Tunes Shorts After Max Removed Them

The Looney Tunes had never gotten a fully animated movie with a theatrical release until The Day the Earth Blew Up. If you were hoping to go back and watch the original series to complement the film, it’s become a bit complicated. Warner Bros. removed all episodes of the original cartoon series from its Max streaming platform over the weekend. There are still ways to watch the classic cartoon, but there’s no longer a place to stream it with a subscription.

If you want to watch the original Looney Tunes online, the only options are Apple TV and Prime Video where you can purchase episodes, entire seasons, and collections for a fee. For a more permanent solution to the streaming issue, you can also purchase physical DVD and Blu-ray copies of some of the theatrical shorts on Amazon. Below we’ve outlined all of the options available right now.

Prices vary depending on season or episode, and Apple TV doesn’t actually have the entire series available on its platform. This is your best option if you want to stream the show online, but it’s unclear how long either of these digital platforms will have licenses for the Looney Tunes.

With Max pulling episodes seemingly out of the blue, purchasing a physical copy of Looney Tunes episodes is probably your best bet. One of the best options available for this is the Looney Tunes Complete Platinum collection on DVD, which includes a total of 150 shorts from the series. It isn’t all of the episodes, but it does include a mix of the most popular shorts featuring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote, and more favorite characters. There are also various other “Collector’s Choice” editions in Blu-ray that you can buy for select shorts.

What Looney Tunes Content Is Still on Max?

While all of the original theatrical shorts were removed from the platform, not all Looney Tunes content is gone from Max. You can still stream the newer Looney Tunes Cartoons series that first came out in 2020 as well as 2015’s New Looney Tunes. There are also two seasons of Tiny Toons Looniversity that remain on the platform.
