Was Trump’s 90-day tariffs pause really a grand plan?


US President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced a 90-day pause on higher-band tariffs with the exception of China, imposing a 125% tariff on Chinese goods.

The White House has said the change of course was all part of the president’s plan to leverage for negotiations, but it initially took many by surprise.
