After kicking off his first visit to Alberta since the election got underway with an on-stage appearance in front of “about a thousand Calgarians” at a local banquet hall, according to the Calgary Herald,“with an overflow crowd watching on screens,” Liberal leader Mark Carney is set to start the day with a mid-morning announcement somewhere in the city, where, as per his daily itinerary, he’ll also take questions from reporters. (10 a.m. MDT)
He’ll also chat with “young supporters and volunteers” before jetting to Saskatoon to “meet with community members” and “delivery remarks” alongside a contingent of local Liberal hopefuls. (4:30 p.m. CST)
Also expected to make the rounds at a “campaign event” in Saskatoon later today: New Democrat leader Jagmeet Singh, who will cap off his latest stint on the West Coast hustings with a policy reveal in Vancouver (9 a.m. PT) — which, as per the party, will not be accessible via Zoom “due to space constraints” — and a closed-door session at the First Nations Summit. (11:45 a.m. PT)
Back in Ontario, meanwhile, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre will spend a few more hours in Sault Ste. Marie, where he’s scheduled to hold a press conference this morning. (9 a.m.)
After that wraps up, it’s wheels up for Brampton, Ont., where he’s set to headline what the party calendar is billing as a “Stop the Crime” this evening. (6 p.m.)
Rounding out the circuit, Green Party co-leader Elizabeth May will begin a two-day trek from Montreal to Moncton on VIA Rail’s Ocean Line, which her campaign is billing as a “Whistle Stop Tour” that, as per the train schedule, will include brief visits to communities across Quebec before she arrives in New Brunswick tomorrow morning. (5:30 p.m.)
