As the final week of the federal election campaign comes to a close, major party leaders are racing to the finish line. Liberal Leader Mark Carney will spend Friday morning in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., where he’s set to hold a press conference in the next few minutes, before visiting a local business.
Carney is also slated to participate virtually in the Assembly of First Nations forum later this afternoon, while he’s also planning to meet with community members in Georgetown, Ont., hold a “meet and greet” in Cambridge, Ont., before ending the busy day with a rally in London, Ont.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s itinerary is also jam-packed, as he will begin the day with his customary morning press conference in Saskatoon, Sask. (11:00 a.m.), before holding a “mini rally” later in the day in Calgary, Alta. Poilievre is also scheduled to host a rally with supporters tonight in Nanoose Bay, B.C.
Meanwhile, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has returned to Ontario, as he’ll kick off Friday with a campaign announcement in Toronto at 10:00 a.m., before attending the Ontario Public Service Employees Union convention. The New Democrat leader will then head to Hamilton, Ont., for additional campaign events later this afternoon, and then finish his week in London, Ont.
Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet will continue to make the rounds in la belle province, highlighted by stops in Shawinigan, Que., and Trois-Rivières, Que. Per the separatist leader’s itinerary, Blanchet is scheduled to speak with the media during two separate press conferences today.
Finally, Green Co-Leader Elizabeth May will hold a press conference in Victoria, B.C., alongside Paul Manly, the party’s candidate for Nanaimo–Ladysmith. While Jonathan Pedneault, the party’s other co-leader, will spend Friday campaigning in his Outremont riding.
