“A coat should be a good investment,” said Svitlana Bevza at her fall 2025 presentation at her usual showroom at the Ukrainian Institute. “A good coat should last you years.” And there’s a reason why the designer has such a soft spot for good outerwear, not just because she resides in London these days but because the Ukrainian Kozhukh, a 19th-century traditional coat, remains dear to her heart. The modern-day Kozhukh by Bevza came in more refreshed iterations. While the traditional version often goes past the knee, hers was short so your bottom layer—in this case, a slinky Bevza sequin skirt—also gets a minute to shine during evening outings. The coat also featured an exaggerated collar, staying true to the original.

The collection was all about the emphasis on inner beauty, which meant even the essentials underneath the outerwear got an elevated treatment. Dresses came in an assortment of colors, even a statement red, which for Bevza was a step outside her usual comfort zone of neutrals, and featured a high slit at the sides and a deep yet still appropriate v-neck to show off the collarbone. Even her more modest and neutral dresses with turtlenecks offered a sensuality for the wearer with details such as a trompe l’oeil bodysuit outline on jersey dresses. As a female designer, Bevza made sure to include hidden pockets because she’s always thinking about how her clothes can be more useful for her customers.

All of her latest pieces were styled with the crushed grain bag which made its debut a few seasons ago. The designer said it was important to highlight to her customers that the ideas of Bevza are timeless. She believes her pieces should be considered investment items, so they are designed to last for years to come.
