Meghan Markle Announces Her New Podcast, ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’

Meghan Markle is returning to the podcast studio. Today, the Duchess of Sussex announced on her social media channels that her latest venture into the podcasting space will arrive on April 8, titled Confessions of a Female Founder. According to the description provided by the podcast’s production company Lemonada Media, the show will feature Markle holding a series of “candid conversations with female founders and friends about the success, the struggles, and the never-before-told stories of building a business.”

The podcast is also set to offer insights into Markle’s own entrepreneurial journey, with the upcoming launch of her lifestyle brand As Ever. “Be inspired by the real, unfiltered stories and lessons learned from notable female founders—from knowing your worth, to trusting your gut, securing investors, and investing in yourself,” the logline continues. A trailer for the podcast is expected to arrive on March 25.

The news comes as Markle continues to make headlines following the release of her Netflix lifestyle show With Love, Meghan. (And its subsequent renewal for a second season, which will land on the streaming platform later this year). As is often the case with Markle’s new business ventures since stepping back from their duties as senior royals in 2020, the series was the subject of fierce debate—while some questioned the decision to film at a rented property rather than Markle’s own home in Montecito and the show’s loose, informal structure, others were charmed by Markle’s skills in the kitchen and her breezy California-core personal style.

Confessions of a Female Founder will serve as Markle’s second foray into podcasting, after releasing Archetypes via Spotify—the result of an exclusive deal with the music streaming platform reportedly worth $20 million—and her own company Archewell Audio Productions in August 2022. Featuring conversations about the history of stereotypes leveled against women—and with celebrity guests including Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, and Issa Rae—Archetypes nevertheless drew mixed reviews from critics. Less than a year later, the Duchess and Spotify announced they were parting ways, as she inked a new deal with Lemonada Media to redistribute Archetypes on all audio platforms.

While Confessions of a Female Founder will likely follow a similar conversational format to Archetypes, it seems that the focus this time will be on the challenges women face in the world of business, and how they reflect Megan Markle’s own journey as an entrepreneur.
