Cleveland is set to welcome two new
United Airlines routes later this year, with the
Star Alliance carrier planning to serve Miami and Las Vegas. These are routes that are not directly to another United hub airport, which makes them very interesting! United Airlines historically maintained a hub at Cleveland up until 2014, and its closure saw operations drop by more than 60%.
Starting on September 24, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) will be connected by United to Las Vegas
Harry Reid International Airport(LAS) year-round, operating five times weekly, excluding Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Miami International Airport (MIA) will kick off from December 3, and this seasonal route will operate five days a week and will operate through until April 5.
United Confirms Two New Routes From Cleveland
Cleveland remains an important market for United, and the addition of these non-stop services to key leisure destinations is bound to be popular with locals. The routes, will both be served with the airline’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft, will kick off just in time for the incumbent winter season and provide easy non-stop solutions for sun seekers.
The link to the City of Sin will operate year-round and provide an additional option for travelers, as Frontier Airlines and
Southwest Airlines already serve the route. For those looking to head to the Sunshine State, the Miami service by United will compete against
American Airlines and Frontier. Mark Weithofer, United’s managing director of domestic network planning, explained in the Cleveland airport press release:
“Cleveland is an important market for United, and these flights continue the investment in our route network there by providing the local community with more nonstop and convenient flight options.
“We’re thrilled to continue growing our presence in Cleveland by giving our customers greater access to the places they want to travel to – from Miami to Las Vegas and beyond – these new flights are exciting additions to United’s leading route network.”
Non-Stop Flight To Las Vegas And Miami
The expansion of services from Cleveland will be a welcome choice for Northeastern Ohio travelers, with additional options for vacation, cruise, and seasonal travel. Cleveland is the busiest airport in the state of Ohio (the birthplace of aviation), catering to more than 10 million passengers annually. Currently, the airport offers 130 daily departures to more than 40 destinations.
Services to Las Vegas will push back from Cleveland mid-morning, before its four-hour and 25-minute service to Las Vegas, touching down in Nevada just before lunch. Return flights depart from Vegas in the early afternoon and arrive back in Cleveland in the evening. Flight details below as per the United Airlines official flight schedules:

United Airlines Heats Up Domestic Network With 14 New Routes Commencing This Summer
A closer look at where United is expanding its reach for the summer 2026 season.
Two High-Interest Leisure Destinations For Cleveland
These new flights are already on sale on the airline’s website and show United’s commitment to developing operations at Cleveland. While the airport is no longer a United hub, historically the airline operated up to 60,000 annual flights from CLE up until its closure.
The addition of these two routes shows the strong demand for leisure travel. While Vegas is a safe bet with year-round demand for both leisure and event travel, Miami is another key market with an increasing number of cruise or vacation itineraries part of travelers’ next getaway.
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport has launched a program called the CLEvolution, which is a campaign to transform the airport over the next decade through a major investment in modernizing the airport and revolutionizing the air travel experience for residents and visitors through CLE.
